Bumblebee on phacelia

Bumblebee on phacelia

Here in the Fens we are lucky enough to host some amazing wildlife on our farmed land.

This area of the site is dedicated to how to manage areas of your farm to benefit wildlife and how to access funding for this work, as well as being a place you can share photos and queries about the birds, bugs and beasts on your farm.

Anyone got any CSS or HLS grassland they need grazing off? Got loads of sheep about all year round. Got electric fencing if needed! Also possibility of grazing veg aftermath in the Autumn with store lambs.

    Hi There,

I am a student from the Univeristy of Nottingham looking into seeds used in the agricultural industries of the Fenlands. I would like to know how farmers obtain their seed, whether it has to be certified, whether GMO’s are used, or whether more traditonal methods of seed collection/preservation are still in use?

I would greatly appreciate any insight into this subject area. Your expertise would be most greatly valued.

    Cheers,

    Matt

      Matthew,

An indirect response but have you contacted CN Seeds at Pymoor who provide seeds to horticulturalists across the world for baby leaf salads and herbs. May be worthwhile contacting them.

      Mike
